givers gain community challenge
Combine the concepts of "The Apprentice" and "The Amazing Race" with the incredible power of giving back, and you'll get the 2006 Rapport "Givers Gain" Community Challenge. Five different teams proudly supported Making Strides for Breast Cancer, Coin and Can's World Food Day, Clark County Reads and our local environment by raising money, collecting cans and books, and cleaning up parks and bike trails throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
Each team aggressively took to the streets knowing that through synergy and teamwork they would make a huge difference, and create a ripple that extends through the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.
Each challenge brought a greater understanding of the power of selflessness. Every team knew that this wasn't a race against each other; instead they raced to make a difference.
Any expectation we had couldn't compare to the amazing outcome. By the end of the day our team had raised $13,613.39 for breast cancer research - in a single day, collected hundreds of cans, thousands of books and numerous bags of garbage. In addition, we deepened our understanding of the difference a team of people working together can make. As Michael Saletta explained, "Can a small group of committed individuals really change the world? Yes! In fact, that's the only thing that can!"
